The Annapolis Roads Property Owners Association (ARPOA) a socially and environmentally progressive community, is located on the Annapolis Peninsula bordering the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. In 1926, the original community was planned in the tradition of Frederick Law Olmstead – the Father of Landscape Architecture - who pioneered the use of green and open space in community design and whose numerous high-profile projects include the US Capitol and New York's Central Park. ARPOA's Community Preservation Campaign is dedicated to preserving this original community vision.
When researching the neighborhood, I found this great booklet made by James Gibbs with wonderful pictures and documents. It details the neighborhood from the very beginning, starting with Rella Able Armstrong. You can find that booklet here.
The community has a newsletter that details their community events. They have such fun things like Dog Beach Day, a community tree planting day, and even a garden tour!
Susanne knows Annapolis Roads very well. There's small bungalows to large waterfront homes and this neighborhood has the proximity that everyone is looking for. It's close to shopping, restaurants, and a few minute drive to downtown Annapolis. If you'd like to see homes for sale in Annapolis Roads, check them out here or give her a call. She'll be more than happy to help you!
