As humans, many of us view insects as pests.... for goodness sakes there's flies, mosquitos, stink bugs, every type of stinging insect!!! YUCK! But insects do play an important part in our ecosystem as pollinators, they serve as food for other animals, and some even act as decomposers for our waste!

This big yellow guy is a Marbled Orb Weaver spider. He was in my yard, and is a friendly spider who calls City dwellings home! He's common in Annapolis, so don't smoosh 'em!
