Zimmerman Bandstand
The Zimmerman Bandstand is the home of the Zimmerman Legacy Tour and the Zimmerman Concert Series. I couldn't find any information as to the history of the actual bandstand, but I found a ton about Charles Zimmerman.
According the Naval Academy Website, Charles Zimmerman was the son of a band member, and was born at the Naval Academy when it was located in Newport, Rhode Island. He was an extraordinary musician, and became the youngest person at 26 to be the leader of the Naval Academy Band. Along with a Midshipman First Class, he composed the March "Anchors Aweigh" which is still used to this day. You can read the history of the Naval Academy Band here.
Every Friday in the summer at 12:30, there is a free half hour concert that takes place at the Bandstand by some portion of the Naval Academy music program.
